Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee review the reallocation of parking:

(A)      On the eastern side of Bridge Street, Erskineville between the points 52 metres and 59.8 metres south of Swanson Street as “4P Mobility Parking 8am-10pm”.

(B)      On the eastern side of Bridge Street, Erskineville between the points 59.8m and 69.8m as "No Parking Authorised Car Share Vehicles Bay 523 & 850".

Background

The City’s Inclusion (Disability) Action Plan 2021-2025 (IDAP) includes a series of actions designed to actively address barriers faced by people with disability. One of the actions identified in the IDAP is to “continue to explore and implement strategies to increase access to on-street and off-street accessible parking and drop off points in the City of Sydney area”. Previously the proposal of these changes on the eastern side of Bridge Street, Erskineville, were endorsed and installed in line with the actions recommended in the IDAP, “4P Accessible Parking 8am-10pm”. However, due to constructability issues with the pram ramp, the City is proposing to relocate the space 10 metres north of the current location.
