It is recommended that the Forum review the road closure of Hansard Street, Zetland at its intersection with Botany Road.

Advice

The Forum raised no issues with this Item, however the Forum requested that the road closure be undertaken as a trial for 6 months to monitor the impacts of the road closure.

Background

In 2024, the City received a petition from the community requesting for a closure of Hansard Street at Botany Road. The community has raised concerns about through traffic on Hansard Street and is requesting for a permanent closure to reduce traffic using this street and therefore creating a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists.
