Recommendation

It is recommended that the Forum review the reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Ross Street, Glebe between the points 18.6 metres and 30.6 metres (two car spaces) south of Wigram Lane as "4P 8am-8pm Electric Vehicles Only While Charging" and "No Parking Electric Vehicles Excepted While Charging All Other Times".

Background

In August 2025, the City of Sydney consulted the community on a proposal to introduce dedicated on-street electric vehicle (EV) charging spaces on Ross Street, Glebe. The initial proposal identified two EV charging bays on the eastern side of Ross Street, north of Hereford Street, adjacent to electricity pole no. LE11738. This proposal was subsequently referred to the Local Pedestrian, Cycling, Traffic Calming and Transport Forum (LPCTCTF) for review at its meeting on 18 September 2025, where no issues were raised.

Following the Forum, the EV charging provider, EVX, advised that the location referenced in the proposal was incorrect. The correct location for the EV charging bays is in front of electricity pole no. LE11741. The City acknowledges this oversight and apologises to the community for any confusion or inconvenience caused.
