Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee review the following reallocation of parking:

·                On the northern side of Vine Street, Redfern between the points 4 metres and 11.8 metres east of Evans Lane as "4P Mobility Parking 8am-10pm".

·                On the southern side of Vine Street, Redfern between the points 9.5 metres and 17.3 metres west of Hugo Street as "Unrestricted" parking.

The Committee raised no issues with this Item.

Background

The City’s Inclusion (Disability) Action Plan 2021-2025 (IDAP) includes a series of actions designed to actively address barriers faced by people with disability.

One of the actions identified in the IDAP is to “continue to explore and implement strategies to increase access to on-street and off-street accessible parking and drop off points in the City of Sydney area”.

Previously the proposal of these changes on the southern side of Vine Street, Redfern, were endorsed and installed in line with the actions recommended in the IDAP, “4P Mobility Parking 8am-10pm”. However, due to constructability issues with the pram ramp, the City is proposing to relocate the space on the northern side of Vine Street.
