Recommendation

It is recommended that the Forum review the reallocation of parking on the western side of William Street, Redfern north of Wells Street as follows:

(A)      Between the points 23 metres and 30.7 metres (two car spaces) as "2P 8am-8pm Mon-Fri Permit Holders Excepted Area 41"; and

(B)      Between the points 36.7 metres and 38.7 metres as "No Parking",

Background

In October 2024, the Local Pedestrian Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee (LPCTCC) endorsed a proposal to change parking in Willam Street, Redfern. The proposal included reallocating three permit parking spaces to “No Parking” to improve access to residential properties.

A resident of William Street has requested that parking be reinstated in front of their property to allow them to park closer to their home. Another resident of William Street has requested that the kerb space in front of the entrance to their property be reallocated to “No Parking” to improve access, as parked vehicles currently obstruct entry to the property.
