Recommendation
It is recommended that the Forum review the following reallocation of parking restrictions and installation of outdoor dining treatments at the following locations:
(A) Southern side of Foveaux Street, Surry Hills between the points 80.3 metres and 87.5 metres west of Waterloo Street (in front of House of Bungalow);
(B) Southern side of Kellett Street, Potts Point between the points 53.2 metres and 71.2 metres west of Ward Avenue (in front of Lucia Restaurant, Arm Length Bar and Caffe Roma);
(C) Southern side of Elizabeth Bay Road, Elizabeth Bay between the points 115 metres and 129.6 metres west of Greenknowe Avenue (in front of Divino Osteria);
(D) Northern side of Levey Street, Chippendale between the points 10 metres and 16.6 metres west of Abercrombie Street (in front of Radio Taco);
(E) Northern side of Reservoir Street, Surry Hills between the points 37.7 metres and 41.7 metres east of Elizabeth Street (extension in front of TRICO);
(F) Western side of Balfour Street, Chippendale between the points 22.2 metres and 27 metres south of Meagher Street (in front of Khanom House); and
(G) Western side of Campbell Street, Surry Hills between the points 22.5 metres and 29.7metres south of Elizabeth Street (in front of Surry Hills Hotel).

Advice
The Forum raised no issues to all the proposals for this
Item and note the following comments:

Kellett Street, Potts Point (in front of Lucia
Restaurant, Arm Length Bar and Caffe Roma)
o
Subject to resident support, the City can
investigate opportunities to adjust parking in Kellett Street to improve
turnover, including the provision of short-term parking for tradespeople and
visitors to unload tools or equipment before parking in the nearby Kings Cross
off-street car park.

Elizabeth Bay Road, Elizabeth Bay (in front of
Divino Osteria)
o
Elizabeth Bay Road has an available carriageway
width of 3.7 metres in each direction, which is sufficient to maintain safe
access for emergency vehicles.
o
It is also confirmed that the proposed outdoor
dining area will not impact Sydney Water assets or maintenance operations.
o
The existing adjacent No Parking zone will be
retained to continue providing residents with access for pick-up and drop-off
of goods and passengers.

Levey Street, Chippendale (in front of Radio
Taco)
o
The proposed outdoor dining area occupies an
existing parking space and will not affect vehicle turning movements at the
intersection.
·
Reservoir Street, Surry Hills (extension in
front of TRICO)
o
The existing adjacent outdoor dining area will
be taken over by a new tenant.
o
All outdoor dining areas will be monitored to
ensure the space is actively and effectively utilised.
·
Balfour Street, Chippendale (in front of Khanom
House)
o
No adverse noise impacts from the outdoor dining
area are expected as the current approved operating hours are until 6pm.
o

Background
In October 2020, the City and NSW Government entered a
partnership to revitalise the city centre, establishing a $20 million CBD
Revitalisation Fund to boost the local economy and invite the public safely
back to the city. One of the initiatives in this partnership is the rapid
roll-out of temporary outdoor dining areas by reallocating kerb spaces to
increase dining capacities for businesses.
