Recommendation

It is recommended that the Forum review the reallocation of parking on the northern side of Stanley Street, Darlinghurst between the points 74.5 metres and 87 metres (two car spaces) east of College Street as “Loading Zone Ticket 8am to 12pm Mon-Fri" and "1P Ticket 12pm-10pm Mon-Fri 8am-10pm Sat Sun & Public Holidays Permit Holders Excepted Area 21”.

Background

The City has received a request from Sydney Grammar School to improve loading access in Stanley Street for waste collection and deliveries from a larger truck. Existing site constraints, such as the elevation changes, limited turning opportunities at the historic Stanley Street entrance, and a maximum height clearance of 2.1 metres within the current loading facilities, restrict access for larger trucks. As a result, there are no practical alternative loading arrangements available to support the school's operational requirements.
