Background
In August 2026, the Forum reviewed and supported the
proposed pedestrian and cycling improvements for Victoria Street, Darlinghurst.
As part of the project, the City of Sydney proposes to formalise Hayden Lane as
a pedestrian-priority space by closing the laneway to vehicular traffic,
extending footpaths and improving access to on-street parking spaces to service
the nearby businesses.
